Photography Shout-Out …

When it comes to photography there are many who capture great images but few who capture your interest.

In this blog we would like to give a shout-out to the talents of two photographers we have been watching for a little while now. Each have their own style and creative eye for landscape and nature-type photos that, for one reason or another, have captured our interest and compelled us to follow both.

First we would like to mention Andrew Nichols. Andrew is someone we know from way back. In fact, we were in a feature film together back in 2009 titled “The Death of Kevin Frye” where we both played bad guys. It was a fun time and we met some good people. But we digress. What draws us in to his photo’s is his ability to see the same world we all see everyday but in a close, intimate and warm light. From the sunrises and sunsets, to the silk-like water, to the extreme close-ups of food and animals and various every-day items, to the life bringing starburst he discovers on even the tiniest twig – his skill and creativity has been growing with no limit to what he will discover next. This is why we like his photography and we look forward to seeing what interesting sights he uncovers next in this world that others see as mundane.

The second person we would like to mention is a gentleman by the name of Wayne David. Mr. David tends to create photos with eagles in them but have a bright and colorful painting-like (contrast and saturation) quality to them that ensures the viewer feels the beauty of the colors displayed. His ability to combine the American symbol with the openness of the landscape and colorful sky speaks of the American spirit and adventure and the freedom to create a future one wants and be what one desires.

We hope each continue their photography and continue to capture our world, its beauty and our interest.

CHRISTMAS FOOLS!

Cover

C.R.P.J.PHOTOGRAPHY & Two Titans Media L.L.C.

We thank Christopher R.P. Jones with C.R.P.J.PHOTOGRAPHY for joining us on this project and helping us take these fantastic photographs. The poem was written by Josh C. Jones of TTM. The original poem “Christmas Bells” can be read here.

And now on to the poem “CHRISTMAS FOOLS

1We heard the horns on Christmas Eve,
The shouts from fellow drivers scream.
And banshee sound
The words repeat,
You fools of three, Two Titans men!

2I thought right then our time had come,
The same as we decree on him.
Our films We make
When Santa states,
You fools of three, Two Titans men!

3Our lives they flashed, as though they may
When death approach, image convey.
Our deeds meant good,
Misunderstood.
You fools of three, Two Titans men!

4Then from each mouth, the sound rang out.
Like echoed boom we hereabout.
Show fancy dress
And try impress.
You fools of three, Two Titans men!

5The gifts we hold, we try to save.
All wrapped in bow, for kids behave.
Attempt in vain,
Broken, complain,
You fools of three, Two Titans men!

6And in despair we jerked the wheel.
Shout, “This is it!” The wheels then squeal.
All up inside
And prove them right,
You fools of three, Two Titans men!

7Then in the tree end up did we.
But wait, the gifts in place they be!
Our job complete,
We end winning.
Scholars of three, Two Titans men!

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!

Your Best Enemy or Your Worst Friend – The Sunny and Show Cher. :-S

Confused about the title? It’ll get explained down below 😉

This past Saturday, the 28th, was a big day for Two Titans Media. A project we’ve been helping to develop from around November of last year started shooting. We’ve been teasing it for awhile (in fact, we hinted at it last blog) but now we can fully talk about it!

blog 1

It’s based off of the life of our friend/actor Richard (Rick) W. Luttrell and the Rudyard Kipling poem ‘IF’. We helped develop the script, crafting the look/feel of the piece, shot-list and more. So to say that we’re heavily involved in it is an understatement!

It also marks the first time lighting was handled by a completely different individual other than us. We got to work with the absolutely brilliant Sunrise Tippeconnie, who showed us a bunch of new tricks of how to light an amazing looking scene.

1    3

We took a day of prep to get set up at the location (which was Rick’s Parents house, which they graciously allowed us to film in) and the next day went as smoothly as can be.

What made the day, though, was Rick flubbing certain lines. As he’s describing where he first heard the Kipling poem, instead of saying, “The Sunny and Cher Show”, he said “The Sunny and Show Cher”. We tried to yell cut, but we weren’t able to get the words out due to us laughing so hard (much to Rick’s chagrin).

Likewise, Rick talks about “your best friends or worst enemies”, but stated ‘best enemy or worst friend’.

So much great blooper material!

2

We’re now going to start editing, to see what B-Roll may have to be shot for the project. But we have to say, we’re thinking this is gonna look pretty dang good!

And as a quick little aside, we also went out to do a photo-shoot with our acting friend Sean Frost, We can’t wait to show you what those look like as well 😉

Here’s one of the images. He looks so happy. 🙂

Sean

And that does it for this blog! See you in two weeks!

Winter Shoots, Cheerleader Whoot!

What a winter so far. Inches of snow falling and putting a stop, hopefully just a postponement, to a few photoshoots that we were hoping to do; however it was still a beautiful site to see all covered in white as you drive down the road. Still, we’re not the biggest fans of snow.

We didn’t let that stop us from taking advantage of the weather and attempting to capture a few great shots at our homes. The talent is Josh’s mom – Judy Jones.

Snow Blower214mm  F/18, 1/250th, ISO 200

This picture set up was as follows: Key light to subject’s left (angled to shine half the light on the subject and half to the open space in front of the subject to help light the “particles”), a Fill light to the subjects right (mostly used, with a snoot attached, to light the empty space in front of the subject where the “particles” would be thrown – a highlight for the “particles”), and a Back light directly behind the subject and lowered to about waist level, angled up toward the subject’s neck/back of head.

Shot on a Canon 7D with a Sigma EF 70-300mm lens.

We used the two trees in the background as framing subjects.

IMG_2156B

No, Josh is not the subject. He is just standing in to show where the subject was.

The snow looks great, right? Well, most of it is not snow. By the time we were set up and able to start shooting, the snow had stopped falling and it was then lightly raining; poor flashes were getting all wet, oh, and so was the talent. :p  This caused the fine snow to begin to clump together, thus losing the fine snow desired for the shoot.

What to do, what to do?

Well, thankfully we had some salt inside – Kosher salt. Yes, about 90% of the snow you see in the air and being blown is salt. It looks good right?

Here is another picture snapped at the same shoot.

Winter Joy214mm  F/18, 1/250th, ISO 200

That is some great snow!

We do thank Mrs. Jones for participating in this shoot, throwing salt on herself and standing in the cold snow and light rain. She was trooper.

And we have another video to show you! Our frequent collaborator Michael Cunningham has released a new mini-doc called “My Dance Girls: A Community of a High School Dance Team”. Ryan was pleased to operate Michael’s BMCC camera (with SLR Magic lenses) and getting to work with Bryce Riedesel for the first time. You can view it here!

And that’s it for this week! Here’s to warmer weather, real quick 🙂

Ooooh, yeaaah… (Photos) ^_^

Hi everyone! Are you gearing up for Thanksgiving? We sure are!

And since we’re in a giving mood, here’s a few photos from a recent shoot.

The other day we were able to work once again with Chris Jones of C.R.P.J.PHOTOGRAPHY and Chris Coleman of Studio CTB for a project. The main focus was on Christmas and Gambling. Which may seem odd, but that was the theme the client wanted 😉

IMG_1522    IMG_7623

The models were: Shelby Lynn, Courtney Lynn and Holly Cummins. All the models did an awesome job and we look forward to shooting with them once again. We’d also like to thank Troy Cope, who came out to help set-up and tear down (plus get a few pictures of his own).

Although we were more helping as crew (set dressing, lighting, organizing the shoot, BTS photos, etc.), we were able to step in and capture a few photos of our own.

IMG_7634    IMG_7719    IMG_7646    IMG_7648

We had an absolute blast working with everyone on this shoot and send a huge THANK YOU to all involved.

And speaking of themed photos, we have another one scheduled for next weekend. The topic will be on abuse, with two TTM regulars. We are excited about this shoot as it’s one we’ve been working towards for a few weeks now! So we’re hoping Oklahoma doesn’t give us terrible weather to ruin our plans, LOL.

And finally, did you check out our Broken Arrow Tea Off photos? As mentioned in the last blog, we went out to this local event and we took a bunch of (IMO) great photos! Click here to check ’em out!

With all that said, see you in two weeks!

Come to the Halloween event in B.A., OK and say hi to us!!!!

Today – Saturday October 25, 2014 – is the annual Broken Arrow, OK Night Out Against Crime.  Takes place in the Rose District of Downtown Broken Arrow from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.  We talked about it in our previous blog and now we have a video that also explains it (and the video shows some of our pictures from last year; also included are some pictures from C.R.P.J.PHOTOGRAPHY).

Also, Holly, the young woman in the video, is a new TTM spokesperson and Studio CTB model.  So expect to see and/or hear her in many more TTM projects in the coming year.

Crew: Two Titans Media L.L.C. / C.R.P.J.PHOTOGRAPHY / Studio CTB
Spokesperson: Holly Cummins

Also, we will be present at the event.  We will be walking around taking photographs for the B.A.P.D.

So come on out and say hi to us … and get your photo taken.

News, News, All To Cure The Blues!

Yoo-hoo, everyone!

Yes, this blog is about TTM news; a little bit about Josh, a little bit about Ryan and a bit more 😉

INFO ON JOSH & RYAN:

First, Josh is now helping out as a camera operator for the Coaches Cabana on Saturdays.  Josh has the privelage to work with Cameron of DAV Studios L.L.C. to video Pat Jones (who served as the head coach for OSU from 1984-1994) as he brings you live streaming commentary and insight into the OSU games.  The Coaches Cabana can be viewed live on coachescabana.com.  They will also be broadcasted on Cox channel 998 (OSU – Pat Jones) and channel 999 (OU – Barry Switzer).

Second, Ryan once again went out to help Michael Cunningham on a project, which this time was helping photograph local male model Mark Ward. Shot in downtown Tulsa with that Canon T2I, you can see the results here.

COMMUNITY INFO:

There is an event coming up in downtown Broken Arrow, OK (the Rose District) on October 25, 2014 beginning at the Farmers Market – 418 S. Main St. in Broken Arrow – beginning at 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.  This event – “Night Out Against Crime” – is FREE and open to the public.  It is made possible by the sponsorship of both the Broken Arrow Police Department and the Main Street Merchants and will involve various activities and events for the family, such as:

  • Free Blue Bell ice cream
  • Free hot dogs
  • Petting zoo
  • Police dogs
  • Jupiter jumps
  • Costume contest
  • Pumpkin decorating contest
  • Carnival games

Also, the Merchants will be passing out candy for the children (and those adults that are young at heart).  This event is provided for the children and families to have a fun and safe place to celebrate Halloween and to get worry free candy (Hopefully the police will be keeping an eye out for those who would attempt to hand out fruit instead of candy.  I mean, come on folks.  This is a time to feed the junk food side, keep your fruits.  Am I right people?  lol).

Two Titans Media was able to be there last year and we are planning to be there this year to take photographs of the event for the BAPD and Local Merchants (as they wish).  Check out some of our photos from last year here.  We hope to see you all there on the 25th!!!!

ADDITIONAL INFO FROM TTM:

Finally, Two Titans Media have been meeting with some potential partners on two ventures that we’re hoping we can tell you about sooner versus later.

That’s it for this week, see you again in two 😀

Festivals, Gambling and Politics… oh my! (But no George Takei)

Hey everybody, got three things to showcase this week!

Remember last blog how we talked about Ryan going up to Enid and helping Michael Cunningham shoot an interview with Chris Sneed, a filmmaker who was organizing the FLY Film Festival? It’s online now at Vimeo. Check it out!

Secondly, is a photo that involved Ryan, Josh and Michael and was an assignment for Michael’s schooling; it lived up to the phrase “read ’em and weep”. You can see it below.  Photo credit: Michael Cunningham, with help from Josh and Ryan.  It is always fun to work with Michael.

Read 'Em and Weep photo

Both the video and the photo were done with the Blackmagic Production 4K Camera, with Rokinon Cine Lenses.

Finally, we were both asked to be crew for it, but since Josh was working another job at the scheduled shoot time Ryan was the only one of the Two Titans available to help out for a commercial to help elect Orvil Loge as the new District Attorney of Muskogee. It was produced and directed by Jon Edwards of E.F. Productions, while Ryan helped as a grip and other misc. functions. You can see it here on Vimeo!

And if you were wondering, Orvil was indeed elected as the new D.A., congrats!

And that is it for us this time.  Until next time! Have a great two weeks!!!!

Underwater & Grooming Breakfast Montage … Wait? What?

Hello again everyone!  Thank you for once again checking out our blog!

We hope the last two weeks have been good to you all; it certainly has been good to us.

#1 Underwater Endeavor

Last week Josh had the opportunity to once again work with Chris Jones of C.R.P.J.PHOTOGRAPHY and Chris Coleman of Studio CTB for a pool/underwater photoshoot; well, it was more of a test photoshoot.  The idea was to see if we could achieve good “underwater” type photos using equipment not designed for that type of shooting.  Long story short, it worked!!! …. well, sort of.  There was no complete control over the lighting nor was there decent control over focus because of how we were able to get the camera underwater – but overall things turned out well.  And we also took some photos in and out of the water as filler while we discussed how the underwater shooting was going to happen.  We think we all did very well, as evidenced by our photos.

(All photos are credited to all involved: MODEL – Elle Rivers, EXTRA HAND – Joseph Willis, Chris Jones of C.R.P.J.PHOTOGRAPHY, Chris Coleman of Studio CTB, and Josh C. Jones of Two Titans Media L.L.C.)

You can see an example of the underwater photo on Studio CTB’s Facebook page HERE.

Here is one of our examples above the water. (We will post a few more on our website and Facebook page in the coming weeks).

#2 The Grooming Breakfast Montage

Two weeks ago we had the privilege to help Michael Cunningham with another school project of his as well.  This one was a photo focusing on one person performing multiple actions in the same photo – a montage of a man getting dressed and making breakfast, with a twist!  Ryan was the model and Josh helped with lighting.  Michael was happy with the end product and so are we.  Michael did a fantastic job using his editing skills to create a unique and interesting story with his photograph.

Kelly ReEdit 5

Also, Ryan was able to help Michael with another school project – a short documentary on the Fly Film Festival in Enid, OK. It was a wild ride, with the primary interview with Chris Sneed being shot around 10 p.m., getting back to Chris’ place around 2 a.m. (helping with getting supplies for the fest), getting up around 7 a.m. to get ready for a Filmmakers Brunch and then running all over the festival for all sorts of B-Roll shots. Ryan and Michael were dead-beat tired at the end of it, but it was fun shooting and mingling with filmmakers (even though they didn’t get a chance to see any films). The video will hopefully premiere next week.

That’s it for us this time.  We hope you all have a fantastic weekend and upcoming week.  We will see you in two weeks!!!!!

Um … Sir, it happened again.

We have let the weekend pass us by without a blog posting.  We know many of you look forward to reading what we have to say in our blogs every two weeks – thanks family for making it seem like we have a lot of site traffic ;P – and we do apologize for our tardiness.  This is important to us, but unfortunatly there are only two of us and sometimes we are so busy we just forget; though our work ethic and end products may not reveal this, we are human after all.  🙂

We do sincerely appreciate everyone’s patients and willingness to put up with our, occassionally belated yet ennobling and educational consultative telling blogs of which we hope elucidate all that we wish to aver according to our cognition and discernment.  🙂

As for this blog: Josh has been working more with the WNBA and the Tulsa Shock as their broadcast replay operator.  In doing so, he has had the privelage to indirectly work with local (not to Oklahoma) cable networks and ESPN for the broadcasting of a few games.  Ryan had two scripts he entered into the PAGE festival, though neither made it in the judges are still willing to and in the process of writing their feedback for him; that itself is an honor, something that we have found, through the various festivals we have attended and/or entered, is rarely done.

There is a local Oklahoma filmmaker who is casting for a lead role and would love to hear from you actors out there.  Jake Richardson is looking for a male actor for the lead role in his feature film “Locard’s Principle“.  View the Facebook page HERE.

We will hold a video audition to select top candidates for callbacks. Film the scenes and upload to Youtube or Vimeo and send us the external link (DO NOT embed the video in emails).

To request sides: Send Heashots, resumé & reel (if available) with the subject line “CAIN SIDES” to Locardsprinciple@hotmail.com

And once again we are commenting on how absolutely talented Sharon Wright is with photography.  Her photos of dolls are both amazing and inspiring.  Her work keeps getting better and better; we can’t say enough great things about her work.  If you are a photographer, or just a lover of photography and art, you must follow her and her work.  Check her work out at her Facebook page HERE.

And that’s it for this blog.  We will see you again in a little less than two weeks.
