Photography Shout-Out …

When it comes to photography there are many who capture great images but few who capture your interest.

In this blog we would like to give a shout-out to the talents of two photographers we have been watching for a little while now. Each have their own style and creative eye for landscape and nature-type photos that, for one reason or another, have captured our interest and compelled us to follow both.

First we would like to mention Andrew Nichols. Andrew is someone we know from way back. In fact, we were in a feature film together back in 2009 titled “The Death of Kevin Frye” where we both played bad guys. It was a fun time and we met some good people. But we digress. What draws us in to his photo’s is his ability to see the same world we all see everyday but in a close, intimate and warm light. From the sunrises and sunsets, to the silk-like water, to the extreme close-ups of food and animals and various every-day items, to the life bringing starburst he discovers on even the tiniest twig – his skill and creativity has been growing with no limit to what he will discover next. This is why we like his photography and we look forward to seeing what interesting sights he uncovers next in this world that others see as mundane.

The second person we would like to mention is a gentleman by the name of Wayne David. Mr. David tends to create photos with eagles in them but have a bright and colorful painting-like (contrast and saturation) quality to them that ensures the viewer feels the beauty of the colors displayed. His ability to combine the American symbol with the openness of the landscape and colorful sky speaks of the American spirit and adventure and the freedom to create a future one wants and be what one desires.

We hope each continue their photography and continue to capture our world, its beauty and our interest.

CHRISTMAS FOOLS!

Cover

C.R.P.J.PHOTOGRAPHY & Two Titans Media L.L.C.

We thank Christopher R.P. Jones with C.R.P.J.PHOTOGRAPHY for joining us on this project and helping us take these fantastic photographs. The poem was written by Josh C. Jones of TTM. The original poem “Christmas Bells” can be read here.

And now on to the poem “CHRISTMAS FOOLS

1We heard the horns on Christmas Eve,
The shouts from fellow drivers scream.
And banshee sound
The words repeat,
You fools of three, Two Titans men!

2I thought right then our time had come,
The same as we decree on him.
Our films We make
When Santa states,
You fools of three, Two Titans men!

3Our lives they flashed, as though they may
When death approach, image convey.
Our deeds meant good,
Misunderstood.
You fools of three, Two Titans men!

4Then from each mouth, the sound rang out.
Like echoed boom we hereabout.
Show fancy dress
And try impress.
You fools of three, Two Titans men!

5The gifts we hold, we try to save.
All wrapped in bow, for kids behave.
Attempt in vain,
Broken, complain,
You fools of three, Two Titans men!

6And in despair we jerked the wheel.
Shout, “This is it!” The wheels then squeal.
All up inside
And prove them right,
You fools of three, Two Titans men!

7Then in the tree end up did we.
But wait, the gifts in place they be!
Our job complete,
We end winning.
Scholars of three, Two Titans men!

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!

Product Shoot, Concert Shoot, and Acting Classes

A few quick updates from us here at Two Titans Media.

First, we had a blast shooting a video for a Client’s product. We can’t talk much about it right now but we can say the Client was welcoming, friendly, helpful, and very knowledgeable in many areas. It was a pleasure to work with this Client.

We also worked with our friend and sometimes partner (the man responsible for us working on this project) Rick Luttrell and Muzzie Productions.

A quick peak at a test shot while setting up.

Second, Josh was able to work with DAV Studios and Expect3 once again to help shoot a music concert at the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame in Muskogee, OK featuring Lee Roy Parnell. This was a lot of fun and these two companies are fantastic to work with. This is the second music event Josh has shot at this location and the music choices have yet to be bad. The place was hoppin’ and the music was great. Although Lee Roy Parnell is listed as a country and blues artist, the majority of what he played sounded like a mix between blues, rock, and pop. The solo sessions for each musician was impressive.

See. Josh was there. And he looks so happy. 😛

And Don’t Forget About Some Upcoming Acting Classes Here In Tulsa, OK.

We talked about them in our last blog, but we will mention them again.

Voice Acting Class

Class will be in Tulsa, OK on Saturday May 30th from 12:00pm – 2:00pm.

This is an Introductory level workshop and is highly suggested to be taken before any other workshops.

These class are designed to help those interested in the art of voice acting. They tend to run an hour and a half long and will help teach the basics of creating voice acting characters for anime, cartoons, radio plays, video games and more. It will also help each student explore their range and learn techniques for creating new voices they can make (such as teaching girls how to do a boys voice, old age, higher pitched, ect ) and strengthen your voice while showing how to avoid vocal damage.

If you are interested contact Rachael Messer at the event page HERE.

That’s it for us this time. Have a great week. See you in two weeks.

Your Best Enemy or Your Worst Friend – The Sunny and Show Cher. :-S

Confused about the title? It’ll get explained down below 😉

This past Saturday, the 28th, was a big day for Two Titans Media. A project we’ve been helping to develop from around November of last year started shooting. We’ve been teasing it for awhile (in fact, we hinted at it last blog) but now we can fully talk about it!

blog 1

It’s based off of the life of our friend/actor Richard (Rick) W. Luttrell and the Rudyard Kipling poem ‘IF’. We helped develop the script, crafting the look/feel of the piece, shot-list and more. So to say that we’re heavily involved in it is an understatement!

It also marks the first time lighting was handled by a completely different individual other than us. We got to work with the absolutely brilliant Sunrise Tippeconnie, who showed us a bunch of new tricks of how to light an amazing looking scene.

1    3

We took a day of prep to get set up at the location (which was Rick’s Parents house, which they graciously allowed us to film in) and the next day went as smoothly as can be.

What made the day, though, was Rick flubbing certain lines. As he’s describing where he first heard the Kipling poem, instead of saying, “The Sunny and Cher Show”, he said “The Sunny and Show Cher”. We tried to yell cut, but we weren’t able to get the words out due to us laughing so hard (much to Rick’s chagrin).

Likewise, Rick talks about “your best friends or worst enemies”, but stated ‘best enemy or worst friend’.

So much great blooper material!

2

We’re now going to start editing, to see what B-Roll may have to be shot for the project. But we have to say, we’re thinking this is gonna look pretty dang good!

And as a quick little aside, we also went out to do a photo-shoot with our acting friend Sean Frost, We can’t wait to show you what those look like as well 😉

Here’s one of the images. He looks so happy. 🙂

Sean

And that does it for this blog! See you in two weeks!

Winter Shoots, Cheerleader Whoot!

What a winter so far. Inches of snow falling and putting a stop, hopefully just a postponement, to a few photoshoots that we were hoping to do; however it was still a beautiful site to see all covered in white as you drive down the road. Still, we’re not the biggest fans of snow.

We didn’t let that stop us from taking advantage of the weather and attempting to capture a few great shots at our homes. The talent is Josh’s mom – Judy Jones.

Snow Blower214mm  F/18, 1/250th, ISO 200

This picture set up was as follows: Key light to subject’s left (angled to shine half the light on the subject and half to the open space in front of the subject to help light the “particles”), a Fill light to the subjects right (mostly used, with a snoot attached, to light the empty space in front of the subject where the “particles” would be thrown – a highlight for the “particles”), and a Back light directly behind the subject and lowered to about waist level, angled up toward the subject’s neck/back of head.

Shot on a Canon 7D with a Sigma EF 70-300mm lens.

IMG_2149B

We used the two trees in the background as framing subjects.

IMG_2156B

No, Josh is not the subject. He is just standing in to show where the subject was.

The snow looks great, right? Well, most of it is not snow. By the time we were set up and able to start shooting, the snow had stopped falling and it was then lightly raining; poor flashes were getting all wet, oh, and so was the talent. :p  This caused the fine snow to begin to clump together, thus losing the fine snow desired for the shoot.

What to do, what to do?

Well, thankfully we had some salt inside – Kosher salt. Yes, about 90% of the snow you see in the air and being blown is salt. It looks good right?

Here is another picture snapped at the same shoot.

Winter Joy214mm  F/18, 1/250th, ISO 200

That is some great snow!

We do thank Mrs. Jones for participating in this shoot, throwing salt on herself and standing in the cold snow and light rain. She was trooper.

And we have another video to show you! Our frequent collaborator Michael Cunningham has released a new mini-doc called “My Dance Girls: A Community of a High School Dance Team”. Ryan was pleased to operate Michael’s BMCC camera (with SLR Magic lenses) and getting to work with Bryce Riedesel for the first time. You can view it here!

And that’s it for this week! Here’s to warmer weather, real quick 🙂

The CELLAR

Welcome to the premiere of THE CELLAR, a video intended for demo reel purposes only – that of the actor, actress, and crew involved, namely US!!!! 🙂

Blogimage

Watch the video HERE.

The Cellar features Heather Cates and Chris Jones and was written by Chad Schnackel and David Dalton.

You can read past blogs about it HERE and HERE.

For The Cellar shoot we drove to Bartlesville and worked a long, long day filming in a dirty, humid, and somewhat damp cellar. It was fun!

Heather did 99% (really 99.9%) of her own makeup while Josh applied some bruises to the back of her arm. Heather did a fantastic job on the makeup.

It was a long and tiring shoot, but totally worth it. We couldn’t be happier with the performances or with the final product, especially when you consider the absolute minimal crew (for further details on this read our past blog linked above).

A million thanks to Heather Cates and Chris Jones for making this shoot, this video possible.

Yuletide Remastered, Two Photos and a Cellar! Wait, what?

Hello Everyone! As you can possibly tell by the title, we have a LOT of news for you. But first, we hope you are having a great start to 2015.

First off, let’s start with the photos! As usual, our frequent collaborator Michael Cunningham needed assistance, so Ryan went out to help with a modeling project. The shoot took place at the Warren Theater in Broken Arrow (and if you haven’t been there, the place is AWESOME) with the model Audra Lou Reed.

Two finalized pictures were crafted…

The official one of Audra

Michael Cunningham - Audra at the Warren

And then one taken by Ryan of Michael, while they were both trying to figure out the framing of the shot.

Michael Cunningham - Cold Night at the Warren

Both stills were taken with the Blackmagic Cinema Camera, with SLR Magic Prime Lenses.

Next is an update on The Cellar.

This was a demo reel shoot we did for a fellow friend and actress named Heather Cates; it also included local Photographer and actor Chris Jones. If you remember we discussed some of the making of this demo shoot in an earlier blog HERE.

IMG_3691 IMG_3692

The script was found at MockSides and written by Chad Schnackel & David Dalton.

This was a blast to shoot, albeit tiring, and we are thoroughly pleased with the final product. Heather and Chris both gave a tremendous performance of which we know everyone will enjoy. We thank them both and every one of you for your patience with us while we prepared the best possible product for their reels and your enjoyment.

And in being as patient as everyone has been, we know you will be okay with waiting two more weeks for The Cellar‘s release. 😉

This video will be released in our next blog.

Last but not least is the remastered version of A Yuletide Encounter.

We know so many of you enjoyed the first version we released just before Christmas, however, that version had some issues that we wanted to correct but didn’t because of the extremely short time-frame; we wanted to make sure it was released before Christmas since it was a Christmas video.

You can read the earlier blog post HERE.

Now that we had more time than about 3 days to shoot, edit and post the video we were able to address the majority of the issues the original video had.

So please, go watch the new released version and enjoy Santa getting reprimanded by Mick O’Malley all over again. And if that doesn’t entice you enough, then watch it to hear the soft and gentle voice of the lovely and talented actress Jessica Dixon.

Well, that’s it for us this time. Until the next blog, have a great one!!!!

A Yuletide Encounter… the annual TTM Christmas Video!

thumbnail

Hey, hey everbody! As our header indicated, it’s time for our latest Christmas Video!

This one is a real treat, because it’s the introduction of a new recurring character and ties our last few videos together in a way we never intended beforehand, but that totally works!

It stars Sean Frost, Josh C. Jones and Chris Jones.

You can view it HERE.

A Remastered version is now available for viewing by clicking HERE.

Now, for those of you who are interested, here are some BTS details.

The short was filmed at ORU’s Studio space and lit with four studio lights and 3 softboxes, over a course of two days this week (Tuesday and Thursday). All of Tuesday’s shots had to be scrapped due to a technical mishap, so we had our work cut out for us on Thursday… but managed to grab everything we needed!

The photos seen in the short were provided by our frequent partners Michael Cunningham and Chris Jones of C.R.P.J.PHOTOGRAPHY, along with a photo or two of our own 😉 The models were Shelby Lynn, Courtney Lynn, Holly Cummins and Ashley Oakley.

Because Josh acted in this one (his first time as a ‘character’ in one of our Christmas shorts), directing and shooting fell upon Ryan (been a long time since he tried a solo directing effort). Chris Jones helped run sound, switching out for some scenes where he was featured and thus Sean filled in.

Even though everyone tried to pitch in and help when they could (the actors that is, since everyone there other than Ryan were acting in this years video), the majority of all the work fell squarely on Ryan’s shoulders; a semi-one-man-shoot. Ryan did a great job and we believe that after watching this short you will agree with us. 🙂

The short was shot on our Canon 7D, with Canon and Sigma lenses.

IMG_1538 IMG_1562 IMG_1588 IMG_1578

This video was a feat to get off the ground. Three times we had to scrap one script due to some unforeseen problem and write a new one. Then, once we got one that would work with everyones schedules and a location, we had to postpone the shoot. Sigh. But that’s okay, because we don’t give up.

Finally two days opened for the location and everyone was ready; however, as indicated above, the first days material had to be scrapped. We were determined to get a Christmas video done and out for you to view and enjoy – and even with a few hiccups, we believe we were able to accomplish that mission.

So with all that said, Merry Christmas everyone! Hope it’s a great one 😀

Ooooh, yeaaah… (Photos) ^_^

Hi everyone! Are you gearing up for Thanksgiving? We sure are!

And since we’re in a giving mood, here’s a few photos from a recent shoot.

The other day we were able to work once again with Chris Jones of C.R.P.J.PHOTOGRAPHY and Chris Coleman of Studio CTB for a project. The main focus was on Christmas and Gambling. Which may seem odd, but that was the theme the client wanted 😉

IMG_1522    IMG_7623

The models were: Shelby Lynn, Courtney Lynn and Holly Cummins. All the models did an awesome job and we look forward to shooting with them once again. We’d also like to thank Troy Cope, who came out to help set-up and tear down (plus get a few pictures of his own).

Although we were more helping as crew (set dressing, lighting, organizing the shoot, BTS photos, etc.), we were able to step in and capture a few photos of our own.

IMG_7634    IMG_7719    IMG_7646    IMG_7648

We had an absolute blast working with everyone on this shoot and send a huge THANK YOU to all involved.

And speaking of themed photos, we have another one scheduled for next weekend. The topic will be on abuse, with two TTM regulars. We are excited about this shoot as it’s one we’ve been working towards for a few weeks now! So we’re hoping Oklahoma doesn’t give us terrible weather to ruin our plans, LOL.

And finally, did you check out our Broken Arrow Tea Off photos? As mentioned in the last blog, we went out to this local event and we took a bunch of (IMO) great photos! Click here to check ’em out!

With all that said, see you in two weeks!

Come to the Halloween event in B.A., OK and say hi to us!!!!

Today – Saturday October 25, 2014 – is the annual Broken Arrow, OK Night Out Against Crime.  Takes place in the Rose District of Downtown Broken Arrow from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.  We talked about it in our previous blog and now we have a video that also explains it (and the video shows some of our pictures from last year; also included are some pictures from C.R.P.J.PHOTOGRAPHY).

Also, Holly, the young woman in the video, is a new TTM spokesperson and Studio CTB model.  So expect to see and/or hear her in many more TTM projects in the coming year.

Crew: Two Titans Media L.L.C. / C.R.P.J.PHOTOGRAPHY / Studio CTB
Spokesperson: Holly Cummins

Also, we will be present at the event.  We will be walking around taking photographs for the B.A.P.D.

So come on out and say hi to us … and get your photo taken.
